Kenya OSPAs to hold a Thought Leadership Webinar on security during Covid-19

The Outstanding Security Performance Awards have partnered with Securexpo East Africa to deliver the inaugural Kenya OSPAs at Securexpo in November 2020. 

To introduce the initiative, the OSPAs will be hosting a Thought Leadership Webinar on the topic of “How is the Kenya security sector meeting the challenge of Covid-19? What are the lessons learnt and where does it and the regulator go from here?” on 28th July at 11am GMT+3 (9am BST). This webinar will address:

  • Taking account of concerns such as unemployment, social cohesion and cyber crime what are the priorities for the security sector?
  • Has the security sector been a success or failure, and what is the role of the regulator?
  • What factors will most influence the development of security in Kenya and how can they be influenced?

The session will be chaired by OSPAs founder, Professor Martin Gill, who will be joined by panelists:

Annette Kimitei – Deputy Secretary at WISE and Governing Council member of the Private Security Industry Association (PSIA)
Captain (Rtd) Augustine Lokwang Ekitela – Senior Advisory Council Member in ACISMP
Kenwilliams Nyakomitah, CFIP, Rcrim – Event and Security Director, Professional Criminologists Association of Kenya
Lt Col (Rtd) Mathews Odongo Waria – Association of Corporate and Industrial Security Management

Questions will be invited from the audience. The webinar offers an opportunity to engage in this thought provoking discussion and also learn more about the OSPAs initiative.
